Achieving transformation
- Description
-
At Argon Consulting, we are convinced that a quantum leap in operational performance demands a genuine initiative to change practices and behavior. We are also convinced that the success of such an initiative is determined by three main factors:
- No matter how precise a target is, it will never be reached if it is not shared and understood. Right from the start of the project, obtaining the buy-in of players at every level of the organization must take priority. But this goal can prove to be very difficult to reach when attempting to make deep-seated changes to structurally complex supply chain processes. We overcome this difficulty thanks to our educational approach using supply chain models and our collaborative working methods with all the players involved in the change.
- The change strategy is just as important as the target and demands the same attention, including:
- the definition of intermediate scenarios that allow realistic progress to be made,
- a schedule that takes account of both business constraints (ROI, accessibility, etc.) and constraints applying to the information systems,
- the highlighting of human factors to be taken into consideration as early as possible: qualification and skills, required project resources, changes to the organizations, etc.
- The implementation of the change must be kept under tight control in order to maintain the impetus until the results are achieved by changing tack if necessary, and constantly ensuring that the gains are achieved in a durable manner. Keeping the project teams in place in the long term, constantly providing the expert input required by the various subjects, permanent transfer of skills and know-how and benefits tracking can all contribute to a successful implementation.
These convictions lead us to execute the first phases of the project with very experienced teams that are sufficiently credible to make management adopt the project guidelines and to obtain the buy-in of the entire organization, and are capable of keeping us focused on the fields where we offer the most added value in the subsequent implementation phases:
- construction of the change road map, organization into projects and definition of the targets,
- initial impetus in each of the projects,
- close involvement in strategic and/or technically complex projects,
- continuous supply of business input for the operational application of the target,
- overall control and benefits tracking,
- transfer of skills and know-how to the customers’ teams.
