Maintenance progress methods

A number of progressive initiatives specific to the field of maintenance have been taken in recent decades (TPM, 5S, FMECA, MBF).

These initiatives represent a significant source of gains in productivity. They can also put the organization on the path to progress, which will hopefully be continuous.

The impact of their leverage depends on the individual context. Therefore, it is necessary to make the right choice before taking any action.

These technically advanced initiatives also aim at developing the human factor and management methods, by making everyone at every level aware of the impacts of maintenance on global performance.

ARGON Consulting helps its customers in:

  • the analysis of existing maintenance practices and initiatives for progress that have already been launched: the level of maturity of practices in comparison with our maintenance reference system, the existence and impact of initiatives for progress that are already ongoing, the specific characteristics of the organization and the production system (in order to select the most appropriate initiatives for progress),
  • the identification of the levers to be applied in order to meet the performance expectations of the organization, while guaranteeing that the initiatives are adopted and applied by field staff (hands-on management, internal or external direct operatives),
  • initial training in the levers to be used: short training, specially adapted to the customer’s situation, in the underlying concepts of these methods and the way they are implemented in the organization,
  • the definition of the business case that provides an objective view of the quantitative and qualitative results of the initiatives for progress,
  • the implementation of initiatives for progress and the transfer of skills and know-how to the existing teams.
