Textile

Description

Scope

This sector covers all the players in the textiles and fashion industry, from leading brands, suppliers and service providers to wholesale and retail distributors.

Background

The textile industry has experienced some profound changes in recent years. On the offer side, business cycles and the rate at which collections appear have speeded up, while distribution has seen the rise of multi-channel and cross-channel methods and internationalization. The most successful players have implemented breakaway models with a constantly renewed offer, carefully prepared and structured merchandising and a coherent cross-channel strategy, all supported by an innovative supply chain.

The challenges

With high levels of remote sourcing and customers who are increasingly sensitive to product renewals, it has become critical to make operational innovations. Companies must rise to the challenges all along the supply chain:

  • cut cycle times, from the collection design phase to delivery to the customer, by re-engineering the processes and deploying efficient organizations (production offices, etc.),
  • boost sourcing capacity, in an environment of fast-changing production costs,
  • strengthen material and capacity booking practices with suppliers,
  • develop the short circuit, a radically different model that demands a complete reorganization (organization, process, management indicators, etc.),
  • adapt logistics networks to increasingly international flows and multi-channel logisitics services,
  • optimize the spread of stocks between the channels: sales forecasts, reactivity and precision of store procurement systems, management of residual stocks,
  • support the teams.
